How to find out the resolution of your monitor (Windows XP)

1. First, go to your Windows Deskotp either by minimizing all of your current windows, or by holding down the Windows key, and pressing the "D" button on the keyboard.

2. Right-click on an empty portion of the desktop, and select "Properties" from the menu that appears, as in the illustration below.

3. When the "Display Properties" Box appears, select the "Settings" tab that is located to the far right.

4. With the "Settings" tab selected, look at the portion of the window that reads, "Screen Resolution."  Below the slider, you will see a number, such as "1920 by 1080" or "1024 by 768."  That number is your screen resolution.  Once you know this number, you can then download the picture that is optimized for your display to give you the sharpest picture.
